LISBON - Final services celebrating the life of Beverly Whitehead, 53, will be held at Warrick-Kummer in Columbiana on Thursday, April 7, 2005. Bev fought for two days to recover from open heart surgery but was not successful.

Beverly was born the daughter of John and Norma Hurst on November 4, 1951. She was a 1969 graduate of Beaver Local High School and a 1973 graduate of the East Liverpool School of Nursing.

She was married on August 25, 1973 to her loving husband, Keven Whitehead. For 31 years, they shared their love of camping, fishing, and the outdoors with their two sons, as well as, numerous adventures at local fairs.

A lifetime area resident, Bev lived a very full life. She was a nurse at Salem Community Hospital for 33years, and a supporter of 4H, FFA, and the Thompson Park Dolphins. She was an avid gardener who loved flowers from the first burst of the springtime crocus and daffodils to the close of the fall mums. She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Bev will be lovingly remembered by her family for her generous heart, words of caring, and comforting embrace.

Bev is survived by her husband, Keven; two sons, Justen Whitehead and Andrew Whitehead; a daughter-in-law, Jodie Whitehead; a granddaughter, Amber Dotson; her mother, Norma Hurst; three sisters, Jean (Steve) Wolfe, Linda (Phil) Murphy, and Bonnie Parrish; two brothers Fred (Dina) Hurst and Bob (Michele) Hurst, nine nieces, Leora Wolfe, Leah Wolfe, Crystal (Steve) Homan, Katelin Hurst, Nicole Dickey, Lindsay Dickey, Jamie Whitehead, Marcie Henderson, and Brandy Murray, and six nephews, Jim Wolfe, Patrick Murphy, Brandon Hurst, Clayton Snyder, Cliff Snyder II, and Patrick Davis, and twenty-nine great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, John H. Hurst, her brother, John L. Hurst, and two infant sisters.

The family will welcome friends at Warrick-Kummer Wednesday evening from 6:00-9:00p.m. The final services will be held on Thursday at 10:45 a.m. officiated by Rev. Kari Lankford. Her final resting place will be Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
