COLUMBIANA – Betty Ann Vollnogle, 90, of Columbiana, died at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Salem.
Mrs. Vollnogle was born February 22, 1924 in Lisbon, a daughter of the late Hugh and Helen Clark McPherson and had lived in the area all of her life.
She was a graduate of the former Fairfield High School, attended Mt. Union College and graduated from the former Salem City Hospital Nurses Training School as a Registered Nurse. She was then employed as a medical and surgical floor supervisor at Salem City Hospital. After her marriage, she was a homemaker and worked with her husband on the family dairy farm.
She was a member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Her husband, Albert W. Vollnogle, whom she married November 16, 1956 died June 6, 2004.
She is survived by two sons, David E. (Carol) Vollnogle and Jon D. (Charlotte) Vollnogle, both of New Waterford; a brother, Dr. Richard (D.J.) McPherson of Naples, FL; five grandchildren, Malory (Davion) Cuff, Hannah Vollnogle, Kimberly (Josh) Louk, Chad Vollnogle, and Gerald (Betsy) Wilhelm; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the East Fairfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Susan Antolik officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana from 6-8 p.m. on Friday and at the church one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
