Washingtonville - Elizabeth E. "Betty" Kegelmyer, 91, of 1050 West Main Street, formerly of Walnut Street, Leetonia, died at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the Salem Care Center.

Mrs. Kegelmyer was born February 16, 1920 in Damascus, a daughter of the late Norman and Marie Imobersteg Yates and had lived in the area all of her life. She served in the US Army during WWII. Betty was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was also a member of Joe Williams Post #131 American Legion and York Drexler Post #5532 VFW. An avid card player and bowler, she was inducted in the AWBA Hall of Fame.

Her husband, William Neil Kegelmyer, whom she married June 28, 1947 died March 2, 2000.

She is survived by a daughter, Betsy Rogers of Poland; three sons, William N. (Cindy) Kegelmyer of Leetonia, Norman Y. (J.D.) Kegelmyer and James D. (Stacy) Kegelmyer, both of Washingtonville; a brother, Walter Yates of Salem; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Pearl Yates, Marcine Yates, and Jean Loesch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia with the Reverend Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Salem. There are no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
