Betty J. Donnelly

Leetonia- Betty J. Donnelly, age 89, of Leetonia, died on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

She was born on January 17, 1928 in Columbiana, a daughter of the late Raymond and Lillian Bish Zimmer.

Betty was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Leetonia. She was an animal lover who enjoyed crocheting and loved working around her home. Betty also enjoyed making dinners for her family and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her husband, John R. Donnelly, whom she married on November 14, 1947, preceded her in death on April 13, 1984.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Schneider of Alliance and Sandra Casacchia of Columbiana. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by a son, Daniel R. Donnelly; daughter, Patty Donnelly; five sisters, Lucille Knight, Ruth Blouir, Pauline Veon, and Helen Zimmer, and by four brothers, Richard, Henry, Robert and Raymond Zimmer.

Her family is extremely grateful for the care given to her by her niece, Luann Donnelly and the special people at Essex who have loved and cared for Betty this past year.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Robert Edwards officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Leetonia.
