Betty Jane Bowers

Negley, Ohio - May 26, 2010 - Betty Jane Bowers, 84, of 50921 Richardson Ave., died at 9:03 p.m. Wednesday at her home.

Mrs. Bowers was born September 26, 1925 in Negley, a daughter of Harry "Red"and Annie Burson Swogger and had lived in this area all of her life.

She had worked as a finisher at the W. S. George Pottery in East Palestine.

Her husband, Glenn Earl Bowers, whom she married May 21, 1954, died February 7, 2010.

She is survived by three daughters, Connie Bowers and Tina Bowers both of Negley and Peggy Bowers of East Palestine; two sons, Gregory (Shirley) Bowers and Glenn Scott (Kim) Bowers both of Leetonia; three grandchildren and one step grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Dale Swogger.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with David E. Phelps, Sr., Minister officiating. Burial will be in East Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
