Enon Valley, PA - December 24, 2005 - Bessie C. Stewart, 87, of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Enon Valley, died Saturday afternoon at the Southpoint Terrace Nursing Center in Jacksonville following a short illness.
Mrs. Stewart was born October 23, 1918 in New Castle, PA, a daughter of Samuel and Shirley Fraser Williams and had lived in Florida since 2001, coming from Enon Valley.
She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Enon Valley, the Mission Society of the church and the AARP.
Her husband, Leon K. Stewart, whom she married October 28, 1938 died September 7, 1982.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Samuel (Beverley) Schellingberger of Jacksonville, FL and Mrs. David (Nancy) Ramsier of Warrenton, VA; three sons, Philip Stewart of Lexington Park, MD, Fred L. Stewart of Sterling, VA, and Dr. Roger S. Stewart of Hanoverton, OH; two sisters, Shirley A. Morris of New Castle, PA and Eunice Boyles of Wampum, PA; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
A sister, Agnes Herb and four brothers, Paul Williams, Arthur Williams, Donald Williams, and Charles Williams are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005 at the Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Enon Valley, PA, with the Reverend William Hoffman, of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel United Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, OH from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday and at the church one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
