Bertha E. Mackall

East Palestine - Bertha E. Mackall, 90, of 7095 Bye Road, died at 7:10 am Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Salem Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Mackall was born December 29, 1923 in Beaver Falls, PA, a daughter of Ludwig W. and Julianna Frederick Renn and had lived in this area most of her life.

She was a homemaker and a member of Negley United Methodist Church.

Her husband, Samuel Mackall, whom she married August 9, 1941, died July 12, 1999.

She is survived by her two sons, Dale Mackall and Gary (Trudy) Mackall both of East Palestine; three sisters, Julianna Crowd of South Beaver, PA, Hattie Childs of Darlington, PA, and Alice Tuffs of New Brighton, PA; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Mackall; five sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Mr. Robert Helbeck, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
