Hubbard- Benjamin Joseph Gerlach, age 26, formerly of Columbiana, died on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 alongside his girlfriend Megan Schneider, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born on May 22, 1990 in Salem, OH., the son of Lori A. Gerlach and Dale A. Gerlach.
He attended Columbiana High School and was Valedictorian of his class. Ben had a love of music and art and he enjoyed bringing a smile to everyone's face. He adored his niece and nephew and looked forward to teaching them new things.
Ben is survived by his mother, Lori Gerlach of Girard; father, Dale Gerlach of Columbiana; sister, Jennifer Beach, and brother-in-law Rodney Beach Jr of Boardman. He also leaves his niece Haley and nephew Bryce; his maternal grandparents Mona and Alan Lees of Champion and his paternal grandmother, Mary Gerlach of East Palestine.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Roger St Julian.
Ben will be truly missed by all those who loved him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Nathan Doyle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Benjamin's memory to the Columbiana Public Library.
