East Palestine - May 1, 2005 - Barry S. Weigle, 74, of 49681 McClure Road, died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday at his home of complications from leukemia.

Mr. Weigle was born May 1, 1931 in Rochester, PA, a son of Richard and Mary Meany Weigle and had lived in this area most of his life.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Weigle Lumber and Pallet in East Palestine, retiring in 2000. Prior to that, he had worked for 22 years for the former Herriot Trucking of East Palestine.

He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of East Palestine. He was also a member of East Palestine Lodge #417 F. & A.M., the Al Koran Shrine, the Scottish Rite, Valley of Youngstown, the York Rite of Steubenville, East Palestine Chapter and Council, and East Palestine Chapter #481 Order of Eastern Star.

He is survived by his wife, the former Sue A. Reesh, whom he married October 24, 1964; two sons, Barry S. (Ann) Weigle II and Bryan T. (Sandi) Weigle, both of East Palestine; a brother, Edwin Weigle of East Palestine; and five grandchildren.

A sister, Marietta Spaite and a brother, Richard Weigle are deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronald C. Spore officiating. Burial will be in New Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. East Palestine Lodge will conduct Masonic Services at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
