Barbara "Barbie" Ellen Guy

Columbiana- Barbara "Barbie" Guy, age 72, of Columbiana, died on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at her residence.

She was born on November 20, 1942 in Fairfield, OH, the daughter of the late Barney Guy and the late Alice Transue Guy-Dickey.

Barbie had lived in the Warren area as well as St. Clairsville, OH before moving to Columbiana. She was a Registered Nurse and had worked at the Belmont Correctional Institution in St. Clairsville for 33 years, retiring in 2007.

She was a member of the Ohio Nurses Association and had volunteered at the Red Cross for several years. She loved working as a nurse and took great pride in helping others. Barbie enjoyed dancing and sitting on her porch watching birds. She was an animal lover and enjoyed the company of her beloved cats.

Barbie will best be remembered as a very strong woman who had a zest for life. She lived every moment to its fullest and brought great joy to those who knew her. She was easy to get along with and never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed.

She leaves behind five nieces, Donna Moore, Tammy (Kenny) Cunningham, Vickie (Mike) Ward, Delores (Chris) Silverthorn and Debbie (Jim) Cox all of Rogers, OH. Also surviving are eleven great nieces and nephews, five great great nephews and many wonderful and beloved friends.

Barbie was preceded in death by a brother, Merle Guy and by a great nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the East Carmel Cemetery Chapel in Rogers, OH, with Chaplin Duane Quesenberry officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
