Columbiana, OH-Barbara Mary Burt, 75, died Monday morning, January 28, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Mrs. Burt was born July 18, 1937 in Rogers, a daughter of Albert and Freda Rupert Cope and had lived in this area all of her life.

Barbara was a nurse's aide for the Salem Community Hospital for several years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of Zion Hill Church of the Brethren.

Barbara had also been a member and past Worthy Matron of East Palestine Chapter #381 Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the Lisbon Post #4111 VFW and was active with the New Waterford Clipper Aerie #2415 FOE where she had served as past president and district president.

Her husband, Dale R. Burt, whom she married January 1, 1956, died March 8, 2001.

She is survived by her companion, Eric "Hooch" Shepherd of Columbiana; two daughters, Debra (Terry) Crago of New Cumberland, WV and Kimberly (Richard) Blakeslee of Columbiana; four sons, Glenn (Jody) Burt, Wesley (Mary) Burt, Stanley (Teresa) Burt and Tadley Burt all of Columbiana; a sister, Paula Cope of Rogers; two brothers, Chuck Cope of Negley and Bradley (Felicia) Cope of New Waterford; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Karen Brewer and Dolly Jack.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Reverend John Bartholomew officiating. Burial will follow in New Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
