East Palestine - Barbara A. Adams, 87, of 143 South Market Street, died at 4:44 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Mahoning Valley Hospital in Boardman.
Mrs. Adams was born July 17, 1922 in Philippi, WV, a daughter of the late Natale and Emma Zanoni Endrizzi and had lived here over 50 years, coming from St. Clairsville, OH.
She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was also a member of the East Palestine Garden Club and was worked with East Palestine Social Concerns for several years. She had also volunteered as a health and phys ed. Teacher at the former Our Lady of Lourdes Parish School. Mrs. Adams was named "Woman of the Year" in 1976 by the East Palestine Rotary Club.
Her husband, Anthony A. Adams, whom she married July 4, 1943 died August 13, 1996.
She is survived by two sons, Alexander A. (Marian) Adams of McDonald and Mark A. (Paula) Adams of Columbiana; two sisters, Mary Springhetti of Lafferty, OH and Carmella Reese of Billings, MO; three brothers, Sam Endrizzi of Elyria, Nick Endrizzi of Parkersburg, WV, and Vincent Tomassini of Kingsport, TN; five grandchildren, Christine Adams, Julia Adams, Andrew Adams, Maryjo Adams, and Vincent Adams; and three great grandchildren, Parker Adams, Ellie Adams, and Ainslie Adams.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Adams Myers and Emma Endrizzi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Reverend Thomas Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
