Audrey Eliza Coble Markle

Columbiana- Audrey Eliza Coble Markle, age 100, of Columbiana, OH, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 13, 2016 at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center, Columbiana.

She was born on March 2, 1916 in Butler, PA, a daughter of the late Griffith and Jane Harvey Griffith.

Audrey worked for the PA Turnpike as a toll booth attendant as well as a hairdresser and a seamstress. She was a past member of First Christian Church of Columbiana and a Lifetime Member as well as past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 481, Midland, PA. She was very patriotic and enjoyed visiting the veteran’s hospitals and selling poppies to raise money for the veterans. Audrey was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan and enjoyed cooking and playing cards.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Migliore of Poland, OH and Gaynell (William) Gray of Fort Collins, CO; a son, William (Joy) Coble of Industry, PA; nine beloved grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Audrey was preceded in death by her first husband, William E. Coble; her second husband, Wayne M. Markle and her five brothers, Rev. Thomas, William, George, Samuel and Henry Griffith.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Funeral services will be held Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Griffith officiating.

Burial will be at The Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, PA.
