Leetonia - Anthony P. "Tony" Dattilio, 85, of 294 Chestnut Street, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 at St. Elizabeth's Boardman Health Center.

Mr. Dattilio was born April 6, 1928 in Leetonia, a son of the late Earl and Lena Girard Dattilio and lived in the area all of his life. He served in the US Merchant Marines during WWII in the Atlantic War Zone.

He had owned and operated Tony's Pizza in Leetonia for over 30 years and had also been a painting contractor. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia.

He is survived by his wife, the former Rita Jean McAllister, whom he married March 21, 1952; a daughter, Rebecca S. Detchon of Leetonia; four sons, David Greenamyer of Lexington, NC, James L. Dattilio of Salem, Terry L. Dattilio of Twinsburg, OH, and Michael A. Dattilio of Leetonia; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Marlene Dattilio, Arlene Honeywell, and Margaret Bartholow; and a brother, Jack Dattilio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon Monday, May 20, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia with the Reverend David Weikart officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Salem Honor Guard. Friends may call at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia on Monday from 10:00 a.m until 11:30 a.m.
