Anna L. Guy

East Palestine, March 7, 2004, Anna L. Guy, age 85, of 476 West Martin Street, died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday at the Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.

Mrs. Guy was born June 21, 1918 in Cumberland, Maryland, a daughter of Robert and Bessie Valentine Seders and had lived in the East Palestine area most of her life.

She was a homemaker and had also worked at the former Bulldog Restaurant for several years and also at Ben's Greenhouse. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Mothers of Twins Club.

Anna's life centered around her family. She had stitched countless quilts for her children and grandchildren. The family gathered annually in Anna's home for Christmas "Romper Room" and St. Patrick's Day.

Her husband, Joseph Leo Guy, whom she married June 22, 1938 died August 1, 1983.

She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Harold (Janet) Gilson of Cincinnati, Mrs. Mary Lou Beight of East Palestine, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Mollenkopf of North Lima, Mrs. Kenneth (Joan) Dever of New Waterford, Mrs. Larry (Joann) Knight and Mrs. Terry (Kathy) Bolom, both of East Palestine; four sons, Joseph L. (Edalene) Guy, Jr. of East Palestine, Kenneth (Patty) Guy of Lilburn, GA; Donald (Sally) Guy of New Waterford, and George (Paulette) Guy of East Palestine; a sister, Mrs. Grace Brown of Petersburg; 24 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son in law, Dale Beight, and a grandson, Bill Mollenkopf.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Reverend Dan Cipar, of the church officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

A Vigil service will be held at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home.
