Leetonia - May 14, 2008 - Anita Louise Briden, 71, of 14 W. Main Street died at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday at her residence following a short illness.

Mrs. Briden was born July 5, 1936 in Leetonia, a daughter of Anthony and Annette Mowery Billet and had lived in the area all of her life.

Anita was a homemaker and worked for WM Inc. in Washingtonville for many years.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Italian American Club and a long time member of the Card Club.

She is survived by two sons, Anthony J. Briden of Washingtonville and Patrick T. Briden of Boardman; a brother, Joseph (Beverly) Billet of Leetonia; and a grandson, Mark Briden.

Her husband, Alvin J. "Fuddle" Briden, Jr., whom she married May 5, 1956, died March 26, 2008.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia, with the Reverend Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
