Columbiana April 28, 2004 - A special lady was taken to her savior at 6:17 a.m. Wednesday from the Parkside Health Care Center.

Anita Jean Bower of 811 South Main Street was born November 24, 1940 in Salem, daughter of Ted and Beatrice Fast Szkola.

Mrs. Bower had lived in the Leetonia area most of her life.

She graduated in 1958 from Leetonia High School. She first worked in the Office of Hunt Valve Company. Later she was the credit manager for the May Company.

Mrs. Bower and her husband went into business at the former Leetonia Golden Dawn Grocery Store in 1965. In 1976 they started and operated the Leetonia Diary Queen Brazier until 1985. She mostly enjoyed being a wife and mother.

She was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church.

Her husband, Ronald Paul Bower whom she married April 4, 1959; a son, Christopher Lee Bower of Kent; and three granddaughters survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend G. David Weikart 8:30 a.m. Saturday in the St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery at Leetonia.

There will be no calling hours.
