Alice Jean Welsh

Lisbon - April 19, 2008 - Alice J. Welsh, 86, of 9074 Black Road, died at 9:20 a.m. Saturday at her home.

Mrs. Welsh was born December 21, 1921 in East Palestine, a daughter of Cyrus and Rosa Reynolds Knight and had lived in Lisbon for the past 4 years coming from New Waterford.

Alice was a homemaker and member of New Waterford United Presbyterian Church. She was a life member of the Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary where she held many offices including President, Secretary and Historian. She was also a member of Amockuri Chapter #17 Society of Pennsylvania Archeology.

Her husband, Paul A. Welsh, whom she married October 26, 1940 died November 15, 1992.

She is survived by her loving companion, Fred Landsberger, a daughter, Rose Ellen Henderson of Columbiana; a son, Paul A. (Norma) Welsh, Jr. of Lisbon; a sister, Virginia Wenderoth of Columbiana; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Charles J. Welsh, a son-in-law, Robert J. Henderson, Sr., two sisters, Rachel Doll and Anna Hunter; six brothers, Joseph, Cyrus, Roy, Charles, Albert and James Knight, a granddaughter, Carmen Henderson and a grandson, Paul A. Henderson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Donna M. Todd, CLP officiating. Burial will follow in New Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
