Alice Elizabeth Smith
Alice Elizabeth Smith, 79, of 121 7th Street, died at 1:04 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at her home.
Mrs. Smith was born January 13, 1931 in Berwick, PA, a daughter of the late Lawrence B. and Alice Johnson Hiney and had lived here since 1954, coming from Berwick, PA.
She was a registered nurse in the OB Department for 34 years at the Salem Community Hospital, retiring in 1991. She attended the Upper Room Fellowship, Columbiana.
Her husband, William F. Smith, whom she married September 15, 1951 died September 3, 2003.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Alfriend of Dublin; three sons, Alan Smith of Leetonia, Karl and Brad Smith of Salem; a sister, Shirlee Bennett of Loudonville; a brother, Donald Hiney of Ravenna; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A son, William Smith and a brother, Leonard Hiney preceded her in death.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor David Perkins officiating. Friends may call from 3-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home before the service on Wednesday.
