Leetonia-Alfred W. Carline, 93, of Leetonia Rd. died at 2:30 pm, Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Salem Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Carline was born January 18, 1922 in Leetonia, a son of Vincent and Angelina Mastrangelo Carlini and lived in this area all of his life.
Alfred worked as a serviceman for the Columbia Gas Company for 30 years retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Leetonia. Alfred enjoyed electronics, photography, reading, jewelry designing and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, the former, Barbara Jean McDevitt, whom he married March 31, 1973; three nieces, Patricia Engle Dotson, Karen (Chuck) Engle and Charlotte (Tom) Burkholder; three nephews, Josef (Rose) Engle, James Carlini and Chuckie (Peggy) Loar; seventeen great nieces and nephews; and caregivers, Lisa Nicholson and Holly Griffin.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elvera Engle, Norma Carline and Mary Carline; and five brothers, Carmen, Louis, Pasquale, Samuel and Vincent Carline.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Reverend Robert Edwards and Deacon Larry Pasko officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Material tributes in memory of Alfred may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
