Columbiana-June 1, 2009, Alfred A. Arnoto, 80, of 105 Park Court, died at 2:20 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth's Boardman Health Center.

Mr. Arnoto was born November 6, 1928 in Lisbon, a son of Ernest and Elizabeth Vechione Arnoto and had lived in Columbiana since 1964 coming from Youngstown.

Alfred was a mixer operator for the former Kaiser and then National Refractories in Columbiana for 35 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church where he was active with the food drives during the holidays. Alfred served in the US Army during the Korean War.

His wife, the former Margaret M. Mazzucco, whom he married April 30, 1960 died April 21, 1985.

He is survived by his son, Rick (Kathy) Arnoto of Canfield; two sisters, Evelyn Knox of Columbiana and Mary Kireta of Toronto, OH; two grandchildren, Nicolette and Victor Arnoto; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Arnoto and four brothers, Paul, George, Tony and Joseph Arnoto.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church with the Reverend Thomas Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery where Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion will accord military honors. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
