Alexandra Combis, age 84, of Youngstown, passed away peacefully Tuesday at 11:45 p.m. at Hospice House, Poland following a short illness.
Mrs. Combis was born January 28, 1924 in Youngstown, a daughter of Demetrios and Kalliope Poulos.
She, along with her husband, John Combis, whom she married January 23, 1941 owned and operated several restaurants in the Youngstown area. These included the Star Oyster House, the Liberty Plaza Restaurant, and the Parkmore Restaurant. She and her husband retired in 1972 and moved to Greece where they lived until John's death in 1974.
She is survived by two daughters, Faith Hodnick of Columbiana and Diane (Anthony) Lamancusa of BelAir, Maryland; a son, James Combis of Poland; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Private services were held at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial was in Columbiana Cemetery.
If friends desire, memorials may be made to either the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Organ Fund, Leetonia, OH or Hospice of the Valley.
