East Palestine-Alexander J. Pink, Jr., 82 of Hamilton Rd. passed away Sunday afternoon, December 15, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Pink was born March 5, 1931 in New Castle, PA, a son of Alexander and Mary Schrantz Pink, Sr. Alex was a union carpenter for many years retiring in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, the former Rose S. Pitera, whom he married February 2, 1957; a daughter, Cynthia (James) Krebs of East Palestine; two sons, Timothy (Sharon) Pink of East Palestine and Benjamin (Laura-Beth) Pink of Dallas, TX; four sisters, Louise (Howard) Braatz of New Castle, PA, Frieda Ann Monteleone of Slippery Rock, PA, Doris Miller of Portersville, PA, Frances (Marvin) Kaplan of Santa Barbara, CA; two brothers, William (Delsie) Pink of Slippery Rock, PA and James (Cora) Pink of Butler, PA; seven grandchildren; one step grandchild and seven great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Pink, a sister, Mary Pink and two brothers, John Pink and Joseph Pink.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Reverend Donald P. Barnes officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 -2:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Alex may be made to Senior Independence Hospice 6715 Tippecanoe Rd., Canfield, Ohio, 44406.
