Albert "Doodle" Hornsby, formerly of South Main Street died at 7:08 a.m. Wednesday in the Parkside Health Care Center.

He was born Oct. 12, 1937 in Hugheston WV, son of Albert C. and Gladys J. Phillips Hornsby.

He had lived in the area most of life working as a truck driver for 20 years. He was best known to all as "BIG AL The Truckers PAL" or "Doodle".

He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Makis of Sumter, SC; a son James Hornsby of Lisbon; three grandchildren, William Hornsby, Rachal Makis, and Michele Makis; and one great grandson, Joesph Logan Hornsby.

He was preceded in death by two sons, William in 1989, Mark in 2005; a daughter, Christine in 2001; and a granddaughter, Dorothy (Dottie) Fungi in 2001.

At Albert's request there will be no calling hours or services.
