East Palestine-Erma A. Grim, 95, formerly of East Martin Street, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 7, 2016 at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center in New Middletown.
Mrs. Grim was born August 1, 1920 in Salem, a daughter of the late Thomas and Ida Moore Roessler and had lived in this area all of her life.
She had been an owner operator of the former Flay’s Sparkling Beverage Company in East Palestine for many years. She is a member of Centenary United Methodist Church where she participated in the Ever Ready Class. She had also been a member and page for the East Palestine Chapter #381 Order of Eastern Stars.
Her husband, Flavel H. Grim, whom she married April 1, 1939 died January 29, 2003.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Merle) Stewart of East Palestine and JoAnn (Larry) Justice of Poland; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Gladys Charnesky, Bernice Wunderlin, Doris Fink, Leona Thompson and Juanita Handwork; and a brother, Donald Roessler.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Mark McTrustry officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 am to noon Monday at the funeral home.
