Shirley M. Tunnat

Lisbon - Shirley M. Tunnat, 86, of Lisbon, passed away, Friday, May 10, 2019 at Hospice House, Poland.

She was born, August 6, 1932, in Washingtonville a daughter of the late Charles T. and Hazel B. Indermill Grindle.

Shirley worked as a secretary with the United Steel Workers of America. She was a member of the Joe Williams Post #131 American Legion Auxiliary and the York Drexler VFW Post 5532 Auxiliary. Shirley enjoyed camping at Guilford Lake, vacationing with her husband at their second home in Florida and she enjoyed gambling with the occasional trip to Mountaineer.

Her husband, Heinz Willie Tunnat, whom she married, April 14, 1956, preceded her in death on December 11, 2015.

Shirley is survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Joseph) Csonka of Lisbon; a grandson, Anthony (Jen) Altomare of Las Vegas, NV; a great granddaughter, Emma Jane Altomare; a great grandson Canaan Joseph Altmomare and many other family members

She was also preceded in death by, her step mother, Iris Prindle; step father, Leroy Jones, and half brother, William Jones.

The family would like to thank Shirley’s niece, Joyce Conn for her help and support in caring for Shirley.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Washingtonville Cemetery.
