East Palestine – Sandra L. DeRhodes, age 68, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, November 12, 2018, at the Hospice House in Poland.
Sandi was born on April 4, 1950, in Salem, a daughter of William and Alice Weaver Colbert.
She had worked in sporting goods as the department manager at K-Mart in Chippewa, PA for 26 years, retiring in 2006.
Sandi was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that was also an active member of Joanie's Sisters Support Group; a sisterhood of breast and ovarian cancer survivors.
She is survived by her husband, James DeRhodes, whom she married February 28, 1970; her mother, Alice Colbert of North Lima; two sons, Douglas Eric (Claudia) DeRhodes of Youngstown and Troy Michael (Candie) DeRhodes of East Palestine; a granddaughter, Sophia DeRhodes and two grandsons, Nathan and Garrett DeRhodes.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 15, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday, November 16, 2018, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Erin Burns officiating.
Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
