North Lima - Margaret Siman Kana Fittante, 96, of North Lima, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, surrounded by her family, who loved her dearly.
Marge was born on February 20, 1922, a daughter of the late John and Julia Sich Siman.
Her first husband, Martin M, Kana, whom she married on September 5, 1945, preceded her in death on November 7, 1985. Joseph J. Fittante, her second husband, whom she married on July 6, 1996, preceded her in death on October 25, 2003. She was the last survivor of eleven siblings.
Marge is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Anthony) D'Apolito of North Lima and Julianne (William) Forsythe of Sagamore Hills; a son, David (Nancy) Kana of Poland; a beloved niece, Michelle (Joseph) Restivo of Struthers; a step-daughter, Judy (Raymond) Bratton of California; a step-son, Richard (Cathy) Fittante of New York; two granddaughters, Deanne (Randy) Carr of Corry, PA, and Keri Forsythe of Sagamore Hills; two grandsons, T.J. (Holly) D'ApoIito of Canfield and Will Kana of Poland. She also leaves behind six great grandchildren, as well as, five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren from her second marriage. She was a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Marge was raised on Dorothy Ave. and spent her adult life in Youngstown, Columbiana, and North Lima. She enjoyed her last few months with new-found friends at Marian Living Center, playing bingo and cards, and loving her catered meals. Many people will remember her in her younger years as the woman who sold donuts at Poulakos Bakery, and in her later years, until the age of 89, at Plaza Donuts in Boardman. She was a faithful wife, great mom, fun grandmother, and a kind person. She will be remembered for her zest for life, her irreverent wit and humor, and her delicious kolachi and famous roski. Marge didn't desire or require much to make her happy, and as a believer, she is now in paradise with her Lord and Savior, Jesus.
