Kane "Susie" Carey

Youngstown – Kane “Susie” Carey, age 91, formerly of Leetonia, died on Friday, November 2, 2018 at her home.

She was born on December 6, 1926, in Kanagawa-Prefecture, Japan, a daughter of the late Nanazou and Tsuru Takahashi.

Susie had worked as a homemaker most of her life.

Her husband, Clyde R. “Butch” Carey, whom she married, August 29, 1967, preceded her in death on June 14, 2008.

Susie is survived by two sons, Michael (Gwendolyn Jones) Carey of Youngstown and Temote Woods of California; daughter, Hereda Woods of California; two sisters, Yomaka Suzuki and Fuyuko Takahashi and a brother Isamu Takahashi all of Japan.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.

Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery, Leetonia.
