Lisbon- Judy Hackenson, age 72, formerly of Leetonia, died on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Auburn Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Salem.
She was born on September 25, 1946 in Salem, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary Shafer Trenkelbach.
Judy was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Leetonia and had volunteered as a track and field coach for many different schools in the area.
Her husband, Howard Lee Hackenson, whom she married on August 25, 1978, preceded her in death on August 20, 2000.
She is survived by a son, Robert (Nancy) Horning of Columbus, OH; daughter, Sara (Brittany) Leffler of Peninsula, OH; three brothers, Jim (Gale) Trenkelbach of New York, NY., John (Roxie) Trenkelbach of Calcutta, OH., and Hank Trenkelbach of Leetonia and a sister, Suzi (Gerry) Less of Leetonia. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Emma Wright; grandson, Henry Leffler-Beutel; many beloved nieces and nephews and her “special friends” at Circle K in Lisbon.
Judy was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Leffler and a sister in-law, April Trenkelbach.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leetonia.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
