Leetonia – James “Jim” R. Kleinknecht, 81, of Leetonia, died, Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family
He was born August 10, 1937 in Leetonia, a son of the late Richard and Mary Davis Kleinknecht.
Jim was the owner of the Kleinknecht’s SOHIO Station in Leetonia and he was Lutheran by faith. He delivered newspapers for over 40 years and was well known by all and enjoyed tinkering with cars in his spare time. He enjoyed his animals and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Janet Crothers, whom he married May 16, 1964, she died, January 7, 2014.
James is survived by four daughters, Lisa Kleinknecht of Leetonia, Mindy (Eric) VanHorn of Youngstown, Robin (Bob) VanHorn of Leetonia and Bobbi Blackman of Leetonia; a son Mike (Becky) Kleinknecht of Lisbon; ten grandchildren, Krysti, Justin (Marissa), Randy, Hope, Michaela, Jordan, Zachery, Eric, Alyssa and Haylee and two great grandchildren, Justina and Adeline.
James was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Metts.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Pastor Phil Bartholomew Officiating.
Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
