Hanoverton – James Edward Davis, 75, of Hanoverton, died, Thursday, June 14, 2018 at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
He was born, June 30, 1942 in Columbiana, a son of the late Wilmer and Marie Klitz Davis.
James worked as a mining engineer with East Fairfield Coal and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Leetonia. From 1963-1991 he was also employed by a family business, Coalbrook Mining.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Davis, whom he married, July 20, 1963; a daughter, Carrie Cartwright of Doylestown; a son, Brad Davis of Salem; two sisters, Sue Urschler and Ann Evans, both of Columbiana; two brothers, Richard Davis of Springfield and Robert Davis of Columbiana; Five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by his family as the best husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.
James was preceded in death by a son, Brent Davis.
A private family memorial service was held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Leetonia, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
