Carrie E. (Stewart) Savage

Carrie E. Savage, 67, formerly of Washingtonville, passed away Thursday evening, September 6, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Carrie was born October 24, 1950 in Salem, a daughter of the late James and Joanne (Rapp) Stewart and had lived in this area most of her life.

Carrie had worked as a registered nurse for St. Elizabeth Hospital for fourteen years retiring in 2013, where she received the Spirit of Caring award.  She enjoyed card making and crafting with her friends. Family was very important to Carrie and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, Emily and Garrett.

Her husband, Walter F. Savage, whom she married August 22, 1970 died April 18, 2013.

She is survived by a daughter, Laura M. Savage of Chicago, IL; two sons, W. Scott (Andrea) Savage of Leetonia and Dave K. Savage of Denver, CO; two grandchildren, Emily Savage and Garrett Savage; two sisters, Chris (Mike) Ecrement of Hanoverton and Anne (Dave) Mathey of Leetonia; and two brothers, Brian (Bonnie) Stewart of Leetonia and Dan (Michelle) Stewart of Austintown.

 A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, September 14, 2018 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses East Palestine, 700 Brookdale Ave. East Palestine, OH 44413 with Mr. Nelson F. Mitchell officiating.

Following Carrie ‘s wishes, material contributions in her memory may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses East Palestine.
