Leetonia- Carol Kay Thomas, age 83, of Leetonia, died on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Crandall Health & Rehabilitation Center, Sebring.
She was born on January 8, 1936 in Warren, a daughter of the late Finley Leroy and Nellie Wohlbaugh Croyle.
Carol worked as a production control scheduler at National Refractories, Columbiana. After retiring, Carol worked at both the Walmart in Salem and the Das Dutch Village Inn, Columbiana. She had a passion for animals, particularly her beloved cat Savvy. She enjoyed gardening, spending time in the outdoors, and absolutely loved eating ice cream. Affectionately known as “Big Nana,” she may best be remembered as a kind and giving woman with a great sense of humor who never met a stranger.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracey (Shawn) Sevenich of Leetonia and the “light of her life”, her beloved grandson, Ian (Emily) Sevenich of Leetonia. Also surviving is a brother, Finley Croyle Jr. of Rogers, and two sisters, Betty (Warren) Snell of Fort Worth, TX, and Patricia (Joe) Sherry of Conneaut Lake, PA.
Carol was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Croyle and her sister-in-law, Joan Croyle.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
