Jane Ann (Longanecker) Guy

Negley – Jane Ann Guy, age 88, of Negley, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Hospice House, Poland.

She was born on March 28, 1935, in Salem, the daughter of the late Dwayne Longanecker, Sr. and the late Catherine Longanecker Ulbrich.

Jane was a pillar of strength and kindness.  She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.  As the heart of Guy’s Bakery, she nourished with not only bread, pizza, and apple dumplings, but also with bundles of warmth.  Janes entrepreneurial spirit and generous soul touched the lives of thousands.  May her cherished memories bring comfort in this time of loss. 

She is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Henry Guy of Negley.  Her impact extends through her four children, Mark (Lynn) Guy of East Palestine, Marsha (Silvestre Diaz) Guy of Negley, Cathy (Matt) Tancer of East Palestine, and Terri (Steve) Walker of East Palestine; generations of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Dwayne "Dewey" Longanecker, Jr. and a grandson, Richard Guy.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.

Services will be held on Saturday, at the funeral home, at 12:00 pm, with her son, Pastor Mark Guy officiating.   

She will be laid to rest at Achor Cemetery, Negley.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
