Jack Huffman

East Palestine-Jack L. Huffman, 81, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 4, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Huffman was born January 14, 1936 in East Palestine, a son of the late Leonard and Wilma Selby Huffman and had lived in this area all of his life.

Jack had been a custodian for the East Palestine Schools and had also worked for Babcock & Wilcox in Beaver Falls, PA. Jack was a member of Rogers Assembly of God. Jack managed little league and hotstove baseball for many years. He also served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, the former Marian Guy, whom he marred May 20, 1959; his daughter, Amy (Deral) Heiland of Xenia; two sisters, Patty Lambert of Youngstown and Beverly (Howard) Joyner of Richmond Heights; a brother, Mike (Sharon) Huffman of Grove City; brother in law and sister in law, David and Gerry Guy of East Palestine; and his good friend, Tim Blythe.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Huffman.

Friends will be received from 5-7 pm Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine and from 10-11 am Monday, January 8, 2018 at Rogers Assembly of God.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, January 8, 2018 at Rogers Assembly of God with Pastor Ken Sevacko. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery.
