New Waterford - Dolores A. George Davis, 83, loving mom, grandmother, sister, neighbor and friend to many, peacefully completed her earthly journey, January 11, 2013. Dolores was a lifelong resident of New Waterford, OH, raising her family, running a business and giving back to the community. She was a loving soul who will be missed by many.
Mom was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church, New Waterford where she served her Lord in many capacities. Some of her roles included, church treasurer, preschool treasurer and the official “maker of the coffee.” A member of many social and civic organizations, Mom found it most rewarding when she was helping others. Visiting shut-ins, delivering lap blankets, Mom loved the warm smiles and tender hugs she got in return. She always took time for others whether family or friend.
Preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Cora Keck, brother, Burt Keck, aunt and uncle, Bertha and Harry George, son-in-law, Roy E Collins, husband and the father of her “girls,” Robert (Bob) L. George and husband, Winfield B. Davis.
She leaves to carry on her legacy her “girls,” Becky (Roy), Paula (Andy) and Robin (Max); her sister, Joyce; her four handsome grandsons, Aaron (Abby), George, Matthew (Tiffany) Dustin; and Mom’s most precious delights, her great grandchildren, Ella, Jacob, Cora and Claire. Also left to cherish her memory are, a step son, Mike Davis, his wife, Cindy and family, Janie, Amy, Andrew and Brianna, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Forever, she will live in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with the Reverend Dr. Stephen Cramer officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Play & Learn Preschool, P. O.
